Victor Harbor High School welcomes 10 new International Students in Term 3, 2017.
This term we welcome 10 new students who have joined our school through the South Australian Government Schools Regional Study Abroad Program.
Welcome to Brenno, Camilla, Carlo and Annamaria from Italy, Macoto from Japan, and Elena, Rebekka, Carina, Clara and Valentin from Germany. Our new students are keen to experience the Australian way of life in our coastal community and undertake studies in Outdoor Education, Aquatics and Marine Studies at VHHS.
Regional Study Abroad Program
This program provides international students with an opportunity to experience the Australian lifestyle and education, and to improve their English.
Students usually come for 1 to 4 terms and live in local, school approved Homestay accommodation. Host families are carefully screened and selected by our International Program Manager who ensures that the best quality of care and safety is provided at all times.
Homestay accommodation is available with selected families in locations close to the school. Host families transport students to and from the school and other venues and provide packed lunches and drinks during the school week. Weekend activities are left to the discretion of the host families and these often include family picnics and barbecues, trips to the beach (weather permitting) or trips into the hills or country areas or to entertainment and shopping complexes.
Regional Study Abroad Program students can choose from academic or experiential programs suitable for their interests and needs.
