Student Free Days are important for staff learning as it is a time when we can spend a whole day focussed on one topic.

The focus of this Student Free Day is moderation. The process of moderation ensures validity and reliability of teachers’ assessment.

In the moderation process teachers work collaboratively focussed on 2 aspects of assessment. Firstly, they look at the grades assigned to students’ work and secondly, they ensure the assessment task can let the students show evidence of learning at the highest possible standard.
