Two VHHS Students off to SPACE CAMP!

Across the nation, 24 students have been selected to participate in the 2018 National Space Camp - Mission To Mars. Victor Harbor High School are extremely proud to share that two of our Year 11 students, Chloe and Alex Byrne, have been successful in their applications to the South Australian Space School and will be participating in the National Space Camp during the April school holidays. Chloe and Alex are the only South Australian students to be selected for participation in the 2018 Space Camp. Congratulations Chloe and Alex!

The five day residential conference includes an excursion to Hamilton Secondary College, a visit to the Defense, Science and Technology Group and the RAAF Base at Salisbury, and culminates in an interstate trip to the Victorian Space Science Education Centre (VSSEC), situated on the grounds of Strathmore Secondary School in Melbourne. At VSSEC, students take part in a program on Human Bioscience as they prepare for a 'Mission to Mars'. Students will be provided with an opportunity to role play real space practices, including mission briefings, flight control and simulated space exploration in hostile and dangerous environments.

We look forward to hearing all about Chloe and Alex's 'Mission to Mars' in early Term 2!
