Semester 2’s Masterchef Challenge was hotly contested by student groups with the final results being very close.
Yr 9 Home Economics students learn a variety of food preparation skills in one term that culminate in a Masterchef Challenge, with 3 guest judges to taste their food.
Students worked in groups and were given a list of foods to choose from, to design a dish, sweet or savoury, and prepare and present with 75 minutes on the clock. They could bring up to 3 ingredients from home, if they wished to do so. The recipe had to also consider where it fits in the Australian guide to Healthy Eating.
The final dishes presented to the judges were: Sausage Wheels, Sausage Rolls and a Tossed Salad, Mini Quiches, Tiramisu, and Chicken Parmesan Sliders.
Congratulation to Ruby O and Emily P who created the winning dish for the 2017 Semester 2 Masterchef Challenge, Chicken Parmesan Sliders.
