Flexible Learning Options (FLO)

The FLO program is for our young people who for various reasons are having difficulty engaging with mainstream education.

FLO students and their families work with a school coordinator, case manager or youth worker to identify strengths, special interests and areas where the student needs support. This information is used to develop a Flexible Learning & Transition Portfolio to guide learning. FLO students are also allocated a case manager who meets with them once a week to offer personalised support and to review their progress.

The VHHS FLO is a Sub School and although situated off-site, at 96 Victoria St, Victor Harbor, we maintain a very close relationship with our mainstream counterparts.

FLO students complete a range of learning programs including literacy and numeracy and engage in studies that can lead to further qualifications including Certificate 1 and 2. FLO programs are delivered by a combination of qualified teachers and Youth Workers. FLO also has a strong emphasise on the principals of Positive Psychology (PERMA) that supports the development of FLO students’ personal wellbeing.
